Thai restaurants aren't exactly rare these days, especially with more than 10 of them in Wollongong. However, good ones are still worth their weight in gold. At least, that was what most reviewers said about Baan Krua Thai, after tasting their range of mouth-watering Thai staples.
With such a good review, we decided to check them out ourselves.
First up was the Stir-Fried Cashew Nut with Chicken, …
… followed by the Salt and Pepper Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab ...
… both from the Chef’s Specialties section of the menu. While I prefer the Cashew Nut dish from Coconut Thai, I think Bann Krua Thai excelled with the Soft Shell Crab. The only confusion though, what do they mean by soft shell crabs are not a SPECIES??
