Taiyaki, literally baked sea bream, is a Japanese fish-shaped cake, where the filling is usually red bean paste.
The road-side stall at Fushimi Inari Shrine also offers a custard filling option.
Made using regular pancake or waffle batter, the batter is first poured into a fish-shaped mold.
The filling is then put on one side, before cooking until golden brown.
Yummm…!!!
