MY2011 - Tepi Sungai Restaurant

For lunch at Kuala Sepetang, Mr. Chuah from the charcoal factory recommended to us Kedai Makanan Tepi Sungai (or Tepi Sungai Restaurant), one of the more popular seafood restaurant in the area.

Interestingly, on the lower level, the building also acts as a dock for fishing trawlers to deliver their daily catches.

And often, local residents are spotted selecting and purchasing fresh seafood off the boats, as though its a seafood market.

Since the restaurant is located on the upper level, Tepi Sungai offers an added advantage to its patrons, the panoramic views of the surrounding mangrove forest and fishing villages.

After browsing through their extensive visual menu of live seafood, …

… we decided to order the Steamed Octopus …

… Stir-Fried Mantis Prawns with Dried Chilli …

… and Stir-Fried Clams with Garlic ...

… accompanied by a plate of Stir-Fried Vegetables.

The verdict, the stir-fried mantis prawns and the steamed octopuses are a must try!!
