Being the Father of the USA, it is inevitable that George Washington has a whole list of monuments dedicated to him.
Among the 24 monuments, the one that stand out the most is the Washington monument, an obelisk named after him in a city that is also named after him.
The monument, made of marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss, is both the world's tallest stone structure and the world's tallest obelisk.
Located at the west end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., visitors could also visit the interior and head up to the top of the obelisk for a bird’s-eye view of the city.
And that, will be on my to-do list the next time I visit DC again!!
