After munching on the complimentary continental breakfast at Mango Bay Resort, we continued driving along the coast towards Pacific Harbour.
The one and only activity for the day was the Uprising Trek, a three hour rainforest trek to a secluded waterfall. And to get to the trek, all of us were first transported on the back of the truck.
Throughout the trek, …
… we went through some bamboo bridge crossings …
… swamp crossings …
… and river crossings …
… before (finally) arriving at the waterfall.
As there are three cascading waterfalls and pools, we decided to hike further to the highest one.
After all that fun, it was then time to head back, this time through the falls …
… and then followed by more trekking towards the river.
Along the way, we also got a taste of some fresh sugar cane, …
… as well as cuts all over our body from the bushes.
20 minutes later, we were just glad to have finally arrived at the river.
While waiting for the boat, our guide decided to become Tarzan and climbed the Parndana tree.
Hopping onto the boat, we had a leisurely cruise back through the river and swamps.
Arriving back into civilisation, we checked into the Uprising Beach Resort for our second over-night stay.
Uprising Beach Resort is a resort style backpackers, with a mile long of sandy beaches, dazzling waters, lush coastal forests and picturesque islands scattered on the horizon.
Here, we stayed in the Beachfront Bure, again with our very own open air shower.
Its then lunch time over at the restaurant …
… where we had the Indian Chicken Curry …
… and Uprising Chicken Parmigiana.
With all the cuts and sore muscles from the trekking, what better way to spend the evening other than a have a full body massage, right?
So, all of us went for an hour’s massage by the beach, …
… before meeting up again for dinner. This time, we ordered the Chicken Skewers …
… and Chicken Works Burger …
… before having an early rest, for an early start the day after.
