FJ2010 - Hula Loop: Day 2 (Pre-Tour Day 2)

With our free and easy day in Nadi, our initial plan was to visit the Gardens of the Sleeping Giant. However, due to the rain that poured almost every hour, we decided to just chill at the hotel.

Besides chilling out at the resort and a quick walk around the area, …

… our second day in Fiji is pretty much a food day. First up, we had our buffet breakfast at Rokete Restaurant and Bar.

Here, we get to choose from a selection of breads and cereals …

… bacon and sausages …

… made to order omelettes …

… and fruits and drinks.

As for lunch, while walking around the area earlier, we saw an interesting banner that read $10 Korean lunch.

Thus, we decided to check it out.

Unfortunately, as we were being seated, …

… we were told that the advertised promotion is only available during weekdays, and the only thing available that costs $10 are their appetizers.

Since we had no choice, we decided to try their Bi Bim Guk Su …

… and Ice-cold Buckwheat Noodles.

With our order, we were also served complimentary Kim Chi.

Surprisingly, we were then served pancakes (for free), although we didn’t order for it. Maybe a compensation for not having the $10 menu?

And for the last activity of the day, dinner at Bounty Restaurant and Bar.

After browsing through their extensive menu, …

… we decided to try their Bounty Special, a rice dish with boneless chicken cubes, capsicum, mushrooms, onions and pineapples sautéed in butter and simmered in white wine and cream, served in a pineapple boat, …

… and Indian Fish Curry, where fresh Walu fish fillets are mixed in a mild curry and tamarind sauce with coconut cream, served with rice, roti, dhal, pappadums and condiments.

And that sums up our short food tour in Nadi.
