It has been a while since we last visited Max Brenner. So, while having a stroll in Sydney, we decided to meet up with the “Bald Man on George Street” to check out what’s new (or at least to satisfy our chocolate cravings).
Max Brenner, the bald man, has been creating a new chocolate culture since 1990 with his explosion of Max Brenner Chocolate Bars in Australia (in Sydney alone, there are already ten Max Brenner chocolate bars), USA, Philippines, Singapore and of course, Israel (his home country).
Besides the opening of so many stores, their 10th birthday celebration this year has proven Max Brenner’s success in his chocolate culture creation, where customers (and usually unsuspecting passers-by) are attracted to the strong aroma and are drawn into the beautiful timber-trimmed cafe, decorated with 100% pure chocolate piping.
In order to satisfy our chocolate cravings, I reckon there is nothing more appropriate than their chocolate fondue!!
Armed with two long forks and a bowl of strawberries, banana, banana bread and marshmallows, both dark and milk chocolate are provided as the dipping.
Stacked above a candle-lit burner, these melted and warm chocolates are probably a healthier way of consumption since it is generally eaten more slowly and can be enjoyed with fruits and cakes.
During our visit, we also ordered their Icy Shakes selection, which comes in weird but tasty flavours. (Their weirdness was the main reason why we ordered them in the first place) Anyone up for White Shake (Lychee and Coconut), Pink Granita (Passionfruit and Strawberries) or Yellow Granita (Fresh Mint and Lemon)? And guess which one was it that we ordered?
As for the best part about Max Brenner, they have a chocolate shop that is located in-store so that customers could bring home their favourites that they had just ordered across the bar. :)
