JP2012 - Takeshita-dori

Located directly across from the exit of JR Harajuku Station, Takeshita-dori is a pedestrian-only street, lined with boutiques, cafes and restaurants, specifically tailored to the young and fashion focussed.

While there are major chain stores along the street, the interesting ones are the smaller independent shops that carry an array of styles.

Thus, this 400 meter long street is generally considered the birthplace of Japan’s fashion trend.

However, due to its popularity, it is extremely busy and crowded on weekends!!
