TH2012 - Wat Hat Yai Nai

Wat Hat Yai Nai is where Phra Phuttha Hattha Mongkhon, the second largest reclining Buddha in the world, is enshrined.

 

 

And one of the hidden treasures of this temple is the curious little museum and mausoleum at the back and inside the image’s gigantic base.

 

 

Note: Most websites mentioned that the reclining Buddha at Wat Hat Yai Nai is the third largest in the world. However, if the 33m reclining Buddha in Wat Chaiyamangalaram, Penang is the third largest, this should make Wat Hat Yai Nai’s 35m reclining Buddha the second largest.
