One of the most popular lunch stops along the way to Hat Yai from Malaysia is Thong Long. At this small township (literally just a block of shops) is where the two famous chicken rice shops are located.
While there is always a debate on which shop is better, we decided to go for the older establishment, Pee Nong, where the full name of the restaurant is Khao Mun Kai Pee Nong Thong Long.
In addition to chicken, we also ordered their roast pork …
… and fish ball soup.
And of course, a meal in Hat Yai is incomplete without a few bottles of sugarcane juice.
A refreshing start for our weekend in Thailand!!
