The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is a historical building that is currently used as a complex that includes a shopping mall, restaurants and event spaces.
Built to be a customs house, the buildings were later used as a major trans-shipment base for the American troops in World War II, before reverting back to their original function. The buildings ended their role as customs house in 1989.
Restoration works were then carried out up until 1999, before the buildings were reopened as the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse in April 2002.
