Previously known as the Sydney Motor Show, the Show has now merged with its Melbourne counterpart (Melbourne International Motor Show) to form a joint venture, where the Australian International Motor Show will now be shared in alternative years between Melbourne and Sydney.
Featuring hundreds of vehicles on display of which many are all-new, updated and revised models and with some being cutting-edge concept cars from around the world, the Australian International Motor Show is reputed to be the largest single-industry exhibition in Australia.
Although more manufacturers are exhibiting in this year’s Show (see 2008’s coverage here), several huge names in the automotive industry decided to give it a miss. Among those who were absent were Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Hummer, Mini, Proton, Rolls-Royce, Saab and SsangYong.

Any guesses how she did that?
