AU2010 - Buffetpalace

Often, when we dine out as a group, people tend to have different opinions on what to have, how much they are willing to pay and where to have it, even though they might have told the organisers that they are open to anything. So, after dilly-dallying between almost all the restaurants in Wollongong, we decided to satisfy the 15 taste buds at the popular Buffetpalace.

Located within the Wests Illawarra Leagues Club in Unanderra, Buffetpalace offers a huge variety of food that managed to please everyone present.

Among the selections on offer included Australian, Asian, European, Carvery, Soup, Prawns, Combination of Hot Dishes, Salad Bar and Fresh Fruits, Hot and Mild Curries, Pizza, Pasta, Cakes and Puddings, Desserts and Ice cream.

At the end of the dinner, all of us agreed that the $22 was a well spent one.

AU2010 - Crown Thai

Known as one of the luxurious Thai restaurants in Wollongong …

… with traditional but elegant settings, …

… Crown Thai is also one of the longest surviving restaurant in town.

Besides the common Tom Yum Goong, …

… during our visit, we also tried their Tofu Tod (deep fried tofu), …

… Dear Crab (deep fried crab meat with pork and prawn mixture stuffed in crab shell), …

… and Gai Lao Dang (fried meat with cashew nuts, dry chilli and water chestnuts).

I think they need to work harder on the sauce part as their sweet chilli sauce tasted more like water.

Other than that, I don’t see a reason why we shouldn’t be back again, since they are now offering $9.90 lunch and dinner specials!!
