Organised by the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia, the Sakura Sunday is the centrepiece event for the month long 2011 Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia.
Celebrating the blooming of cherry blossoms around Philadelphia, especially in Fairmount Park, …
… several activities and performances were scheduled during the event. Among them included calligraphy, origami, and kite making workshops, shiatsu massage sampler and ikebana flower arrangement demonstrations.
But it was the performances at the main stage that drew most of the crowds, with:
… 10tecomai performing the Yosakoi Festival Dance, …
… Tamagawa University’s Taiko Drum and Dance, …
… and, Salme presenting the Tokyo Review.
I guess, the only other thing that could rival the turnout for the performances was the queue for Regent Thai’s marinated chicken skewer.
My first time seeing Teriyaki Chicken served on a skewer!!
