For dinner, we went to try out a new Thai restaurant in Wollongong, Crystal Thai Cuisine. It seems that Thai restaurants are so popular nowadays that its growing like mushrooms (apparently on King Street, Newtown, there are 51 Thai restaurants, giving it the name “centre of Thai cuisine”). Looks like Keira Street, Wollongong will be the next Newtown (but only 5 Thai restaurants, for now).
Dinner menu
Other than the signboard that is not quite noticeable from the outside, the restaurant itself offers a delightful ambience. The interior design looks like a fusion of all the different Asian cultures.
Nice interiors
They even had a fireplace full of Christmas decorations.
Christmas deco
Price-wise, it sort of follow the standard pricing of most Thai restaurants with mains costing between $15 to $25.
Mixed vege
Yellow curry with chicken
Sweet and sour fish
This could be the first Thai restaurant that serves rice in a bowl, instead of a container.
Although I wouldn’t say that they made the best Thai food (from those that I have tried in Australia), it is a nice place if you are planning for a quiet dinner.
